Martin’s widespread experience in cities, country towns and remote settlements, with a variety of differing clientele enables him to serve all people, from young children to the elderly. His close working relationship with Ophthalmologists during his time at the Hollows Foundation has provided Martin with a unique insight into helping prevent vision loss due to common conditions including Cataract, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Diabetes.

Martin says ‘one of the things I find patients like is a down to earth explanation of their condition and honest advice on what their options are. So often optometrists can get caught up with jargon and can come across as arrogant, that is one thing I try to avoid.’

‘Patients are often surprised that I ask so many questions the first time I test them. It’s not meant to be rude or invasive, rather knowing more about you and your life helps me to offer the most appropriate advice.’
